Black Molly? I will take one :)

Edit: heck I might even take a few...at least a couple anyways. Maybe I can get them to breed and provide a nice stream of plankton for my system!

Curious, how long have you been acclimating it? What is your procedure?

they are metallic green black spoted high fined mollys, they are 1''-2''
i drip acclimate them at 1 drop every 5 seconds until they are adapted to the saltwater(4-6 hours)

Sailfin molly? I have this fuzzy dark purple almost black algae that nothing touches in my tank. Maybe these guys can knock it out, man that would be sweet. I have Tangs, Turbo's, Crabs and even a Abalone that is not touching it... I had a tuxedo urchin that was eating it but it was also taking out all my coralline algae so he had to go.

I will keep them in the saltwater for 1-2 weeks just to be sure it takes , then ill let you know , they eat somee of the more dificult/nasty fresh water algaes so it would be worth a try

They are definitely known to go after GHA, bryopsis and other sorts of nasty algae. Heck some even claim they eat cyano. No first hand experience but I have read a few forum threads praising them. I really only have one algae that I dont have a predator for so I figure its worth a shot. I just use a toothbrush to remove it now but of course it always comes back. I have also read they don't do well in high flow which could be a problem. Worth a shot though and if I can get 2 of them breeding, the more plankton the merrier in my book!

i hoping since these have shorter fins , they will be okay in higher flow
Where abouts do you live? If we arn't too far removed I'd love to try 2-3 (not sure if this "group" was intended for people buying a dozen at a time.)

Will they eat conventional pellet or frozen too?

Very interested in trying them out, but that is awful far. I'll have to think about it, perhaps an evening after work. Otherwise it's close to a $20 trip in gas.

It might be a while before I can get these guys. I have just put a fish into my system and I have 2 more almost done with QT. I don't want to go crazy with my bioload.
