Moving across town! Having nightmares already!

So this will be my first and last time to move my tank. We just bought a house and am moving the tank at the end of this month just across town. I'm going to completely revamp my whole tank changing up LR and everything since it will be a 3 sided view now instead of just 2. Great clean will be required and I will probably drill a return bulkhead in the back of the tank now. Anyone have any helpful advice? Or possibly someone with experience want to help drill the tank?

Sorry to add on so fast as well but I was thinking about putting the sump under the house. The crawl space area. Has anyone done this or should I just stay away from it?

Don't ask me! I can't move a tank 20 feet with out killing everything!

I'd get new sand, preserve all the water you can, get some sort of bacteria supplement and do pre-emptive water changes.

Just don't add any new rock, fish , coral for a bit.

I've moved lots of tanks just fine! Just had a problem once. I was just making a joke about myself. Don't worry!

I had a disastrous of sorts move with my 55 and ended up fine.

Only question is sounds like you are doing a lot with the tank rather than a simple transfer and setup. If you are buying a house and have a decent window for doing things. What you can do is get a cheap banged up tank or tubs etc. (Don't know tank size) and set it up with the basics and transfer everything giving yourself a few days to get your main tank squared away. Save as much water as you can but this way you can also have fresh saltwater properly mixed for a few days waiting for the shortfall.

New sand is a good idea rather than trying to use old for sure. If you can imo transfer the rock in water rather than trying to leave it in the air w/ damp towels.

I'm looking for a 50g rubbermaid tube at the moment. I then may transfer it to be used as a new sump a bit larger and better than the tiny 20 I have right now.

Plan ahead! Have a checklist ready for all parts of your system. I was more worried about getting everything clean and forgot to plug my heater. Luckily I noticed within an hour or so

Dude that would be so sweet! Will it hold the weight well? Would it fit in the back of my honda civic hatch or should I bring a truck?

Well I am moving on the 29th so maybe like the week after next. That should give me enough time to get it all taken care of properly!

I have some insulated boxes you can use to transport livestock and rock if you need them. Let me know and drop by the store.

Yup its looking good. I just need to either make 1 more pillar or add an archway and the rockstack should be done.
