Aged 9 and 11, they just learned how to take 30 gallons out of my sump, carry partial 5 gal buckets upstairs and dump in the sink, how to start a siphon (my son now knows I was serious when I said you don't want a mouthful of saltwater!), then how to add 30 gallons back into the sump. I showed them how I measure salt and check the salinity. Once all the water was back in the system they got to push the buttons in Fusion to turn everything on the Apex back on. I think they actually enjoyed it, maybe a couple of future reefers in the making!

That's awesome! I don't have kids of my own but every time I do water changes I wish I did! Passing on the bucket to the next generation is pretty cool!

That's cool. I've taught kids at school but not my own. I need to get them more involved.

They both have Zoa colonies that they picked out, but this was the first time they've helped out like that. I've got to take baby steps with it or next thing you'll know I'll have little Pico's up in their bedrooms!

That's great Chris! I haven't tried a water change yet with my 3 yr old. He's always been interested in pipes and water since he was little so he helps me by checking for leaks on the pipes and making sure my ato is filled.
