need help witth green water!!!

So i have a 30 gallon reef tank
40 gal refugium w/ skimmer and LR/LS and cheato
numerous filtration pads
all parammeters seem fine except ammonia was around.25 perhaps a tad darker.

and for about a month now i have been having a problem with a merky green water level about 4 inches from the bottom of the tank up and its clouding my whole tank tremendously.

at first i was not using ro/di water but have been for about 2 months now...

is there anyway to rid this so i can possibly see my fish again?

i am haveing the same issue....i have read lights out small frequent water changes, uv, carbon, and diatom powder(have never even heard of it)

so i can place carbon into normal nylon stocking footing right?

lol well im definitly not in the position to purchase a uv sterilizer financially ...anybody got one i can borrow just to clear it up?

I would try turning your lights off for a day or two and toss in carbon.
