need some skimmer help

alright i pick up an ASM G3 w/Sedra 9000 from rmougey today and the pipe for the pump to skimmer was gone. it was a good thing tho because with the pump it wouldnt fit in to my fuge. so now to my question can i run the Sedra 9000 as an external pump because it wont fit in the section of my fuge?

Like a remote pump? If so, shouldn't be an issue imo but not 100% sure. I don't think you could use it as an external though, it has or should have a volute and I'm not sure you could get it to seal. Also the g3 should have a sedra 3500 from factory

its just a skimmer pump thats about all i know about it. so lets say i pipe to the pump and a return from the pump and just put the pump in a bucket of water still on the outside of the fuge?

you just need to get the little elbow pipe and the g3 is supposed to have the 5000 the 9000 is an upgrade

now you need to mesh mod and gate valve it and it will be badass

and no you cant run it ext... well if you clamped a piece of hose to the outside of the volute but thats asking for trouble

dang looks like i might need to trade for an external then cuz i dont have enough room in the chamber in the fuge for the skimmer and pump

the chamber if 1'0 3/4 long but 0'8' wide 1'1 1/4" tall whats the foot print of the g2?

ya for sure if i can make this work i will see if she will work. i'm also debating if i could put the pump in the chamber and pipe to the skimmer out side of the tank
