Good skimmer choice. What ya running for lighting? What's going on that nice rock work?

Thanks I like the asm skimmers allot, the lighting is t5s for now but I will be building some 3w leds strips to accent the tank and have that night time blue pop. As far as the rockwork I'm thinking nothing but sps :) I also have a wp40 on the way and have more rock for the left side when I break down my 29g.

Diatom blooms started today, Woo hoo! I have also been doing water changes(1 gallon a day) from my 29g into the 75g to help speed up the cycle.

Interesting. Are you adding the old water to introduce bacteria from the old tank, or nutrients to feed the bacteria in the new tank?
That rock work will look great with some big sps colonies.

It's just my way of adding bacteria to a new tank that has none. New sand, dead rock fresh saltwater= no bacteria so instead of adding a store brand bacteria supplement I'm just using what I already have available.

Gotcha. Maybe add a couple rocks from the established tank. From what I've read (I haven't checked with a microscope personally), there isn't too much in the way of the 'good' bacteria free swimming. I don't really see how this would hurt though.

+1 99% of your bacteria is in your substrate and rocks. Put a few cups of old sand to seed the new sand and place a couple old rocks in your new rockwork. Adding water from your old tank will help tons cause it gives the new stuff an ammonia source that is similar to the old tank and will help get parameters closer to make acclimation easier for corals.
