Hello,
Found this site while searching Google for Colorado Saltwater Forums, here's a bit about me!!!
I'm 33, live in Denver, and been in the aquatic hobby going on 22 years now. I've spent most of the years in the New World Cichlids area of the hobby, while Planted Tanks are my favorite side of the hobby I thought it's time to get back into Saltwater Tanks again. I currently have 4 tanks in my bedroom alone, that's how much I enjoy this hobby. The only saltwater tank I've had in the past was a 55 gallon FOWLR setup, I currently live off disability so I don't have much money to put towards an extensive saltwater tank with corals, and such... So I'm thinking that for my 45 gallon long tank that I'll be getting quite a bit of artificial coral, and because I was able to keep an anemone alive longer than 2 months (lol don't ask) that this time I'll just get a couple fake ones.
Here's a list of the tanks I have, but only 2 of them are running.
100 gallon tank (72"x18"x18") - Needs to be resealed
45 gallon long (48"x12"x19") - Starting to tear down, and switch over to saltwater
6 gallon topless Fluval Edge - Currently empty
Aqueon Evolve 4 - Currently running as a planted tank, but will be switching over to saltwater
Breakdown of my 45 gallon long tank
Lighting - 48" Odyssea T5HO quad w/ built in timer (2 x TrueLumens 460nm actinic bulbs, and 2 x TrueLumens 12,000k bright white bulbs)
Heating - 200w Hydor Theo submersible heater
Filtration - SunSun 402B canister filter w/ 9w UV light, and Odyssea CFS500 canister filter
Substrate - Going with 110lbs of Bahama Aragonite Sand
I'm thinking of going with around 30-45lbs of lace rock for my base rock, and then for live rock I was thinking of going with 50-75lbs of Florida Live Rock.
