Just wanted to share something that was created (on accident).
I replaced the factory filter holders with the IM Custom cady and the magnafuge light. I've also replaced the factory return pumps with 2 so i've increased the flow from 211gph to 367gph.

The magnafuge is a big larger than needed for the nuvo 16 if you are setting the mini refugium in the 1st return chamber, can only get like 4 of the lights over it. The other 2 are on the next chamber, I guess if you are not running a skimmer like me in that chamber you could set up a refugium over that whole side. I don't know if you would get that same effect with the hair algae like i am getting without having the higher flow and small space. (i'm not getting any hair algae growth on the tanks outside wall, just on the custom cady)
I put chaeto into the middle of the new cady setting up a small refugium in the back...well what has happened is the chaeto is growing inside the chamber (very well i might add), but I think because of the high flow through those returns and the small space between the cady and the back wall of the aquarium i've created an algea scrubber situation. I hair algae growing and basically every watcher change i just pull the thing out, wipe the hair algae off and by next water change it is back.
I don't ever have any aglae in my display.
Anyways, just wanted to share...don't know if this information is worth anything to anyone else, but the effect was duplicated on both of my nuvo 16 gallon tanks.
I had been running a mini refugium before this with a different light (much lower wattage) and i grew the chaeto, but never had the hair algae pop up in that rear section.
As a side note, even before doing this i never had any aglae problems...recently i had an issue with a little bit of cyano in one of my tanks, but I got it under control without any chemical dosing. (controlled feedings / restarted my refugium in the back)
