I have a Super Squirt. Needed to have the motor replaced after 1 year... and had to fight to get it done. Ended up sharing the cost with the vendor. He has since moved to a new motor style.

Overall it's well made. Great idea.... and works well. Depending on the insert and the amount of pressure, the unit is subject to thumping noises as pressure is relieved. It's fairly quiet, but I wouldn't put it in a bedroom or TV area where you were expecting low noise levels.

When you buy the unit, buy an extra insert (drum) and swap them out during cleanings. It will help them last longer.

No closed loop and I don't plan on adding one. I'm in the midst of a tank renovation though and wondered if it would be worth my time to put another hole in the back and run the return through an OM.

I would be putting ~700 gph through it and the unit would be in my living room so thumping would not be appreciated. Hmmmm, maybe I'll just put a larger pump on my swirler stein.
