So I have been buying pepperment shrimp to combat my aptashia problem I will always get a batch of three alot of times they will molt and i will find the shell flowing around or in my pallys The tank is about 5 years old I i know i have a couple old bisttel worms or fire worms that are large. Now my last set of pepperment shrimp have turned up missing no shell it like someone removed them from the tank no parts floting or anything.Has anyone else had the seen this in the past.

What other invertebrates do you have in the tank? I had a similar issue with the peppermints disappearing until I figured out that my cleaner shrimp were killing them. In fact beacuse of my cleaners I cant put any new inverts in the tank as they will disappear within a few days.

Do you have any wrasses or other fish that my prey on them.

In my tank, peppermint shrimp were nothing but snacks for my fish lol

This has always been my experience with peppermints. Time after time if I add 5-6 after about 2-3 months I'll have 1 or 2 if I'm lucky. Eventually I end up with one that lives long and prospers. I'm not sure what happens but my thought is they might be killing each other off but I don't know for sure. I have no other predators in the tank so this is my only assumption based on repeated observation.
