It appears that the power just went out in a large part of Aurora. If it doesn't come back on in a short time, I am going to lose ALL of my tanks. If that happens I am afraid that I we be forced from the hobby. I will not be able to come back from that disaster.

How would you go about doing that? I have three tanks in danger and not a single battery powered air pump. I can agitate the water in each briefly from time to time. But how much is that really going to do? Either way I am not going to get any sleep until the power comes back on.

I just got off the phone with Excel Energy and they said that power should be restored by 1:30am. Will it be a problem if the power is out for an hour and a half or will everything be ok?

Thanks, I will stir the water. As for keeping the house toasty, I have no way to control that right now because.... The power is out. Hahaha

When this happens I use a DC converter running from my car battery to run my return pump. A portable jump kit can also help, but must be used sparingly, as you can't just run the car a bit and juice it back up.

I lost power Saturday for about 4 hour. I was gone from the house so I was worried when I got home but everyone seemed to be ok. Now, my tank is a lot smaller than most on this site.

Power was out for me Saturday night as well, but I wasn't home. I got home and it turned on about 10 minutes later. Small back-flow flood, looks like one Chalice lost. My return pump broke..... I am going to try and come up with a power outage solution.

Thank you all for the help and concern. Thankfully everything made it through the night ok. I was very tired at work the next morning, since I had to keep the water moving manually until the power was restored, but all is basically well. I do have a rainbow anemone that has been looking REALLY bad ever since, but I hope that it will pill through.
