Anyone know of a room/apartment/studio/house etc that would be available to rent? I just started looking. I'd like to find something under $1000 per month. I'm not going to be picky at this point but I do want to have my fish tank. Thanks

The easiest place to look is Craigslist. Just check the people out and make sure everything is on the up and up

Ya, I'm checking Craigslist too and some realty sites. Just thought I'd see if anyone here had a lead.

Contact a Realtor, they get paid by the landlord and will help you find a place

What part of town?

IME realtors will not help you find a place to rent. Zillow and Craigslist aee your best online sources to find places. Real Atlas is also pretty good. They are the agent for my rental house and are pretty quick with maintainance.

I used Re/Max to find my rental, check them out. Didn't cost me a dime, but it cost the landlord a commission.

Cool thanks guys. I don't know what part of town yet or when exactly. I will keep checking Zillow, Craigslist, and Trulia. I wish I didn't have to do this...

Add apartments.com to your list as well. Not as good as craigslist for private rental properties...but it will allow you to search several of the larger complexes/neighborhoods in your price range.
