RO/DI placement

Hi I'm looking at a RO/DI unit and it hooks up to a garden hose which makes me wonder what do i do for winter because it is out side so you get the point. :grumpy:

You can buy a piercing saddle valve and put it anywhere there is copper pipe. I have mine in the basement.

Have you already purchased it? Mine came with that adapter as well as the saddle valve and an inline piece that would go to the water line under a sink. I'm not a fan of the saddle valves as it is a permanent connection.

Do you have it hooked up somehow to still be able to use the cold water for the washer? Or do you not just use cold water, or do you just swap out the hose every time you want to use cold water?

Could get a 'y' splitter too and use the cold line for washer.
