Not good enough. I need to know how far above the tank it sticks up. This shouldn't include the space required to actually remove the cap since I will lift the hood to remove the cap (at least I think I can).

SO I called Elite Reef and the required space above the tank is about 7" and another 2" to remove the collection cup (which in my case would be done with the hood up). I like this skimmer better than the AquaC Remora just because it is all in one and doesn't require the pump to be installed into the tank. Hopefully it will fit in my hood.

I checked my hood on the tank and I don't have enough space above the top of the tank to the bottom of the hood for this skimmer. Almost every HOB skimmer requires 6.5" of space above the tank, so I think the only option is to use a Hydor Koralia Slim-Skim Internal Protein Skimmer. This would keep it low, but then take up space within the tank.
