I got a nice frag of zoas and I had the urge to take them off the ugly plug. So I took a razor and cut the glue around it until it fell off. Now its closed up and its not as nice as it was. Will it DIE?

Alright. I glued it to a rock and they looked pretty pi$$ed right now. I would hate to lose the nicest frag in my tank.

Yea, they'll stay closed for weeks at a time only to open up and look like nothing ever happened.

How are they doing? +1 to above, they are pretty resillient and they should be fine. Sometimes if I get glue on or too close to the polyp they don't like it and will take a couple days to get over it. So you might have gotten glue too close when you re-glued them to the rock.

The polyps are great. They're enjoying the new bulbs I just put in the light. They opened fully and look gorgeous an hour after the lights came on this morning. No more worries I appreciate all the comments and help!! Thanks

Yeah well you have a colony so you should have NO problems with it. Make sure you glue it to whatever you want. I only had 3 polyps so I was worried. Nice colony btw.

Thank you!! They look gorgeous already I can't wait till they spread! Did you take them out of the tank completely to remove them?

Yes take them out and razorblade the bottom as CLOSE to the disk as you can. Then glue the bottom (do not hit the polyps. They won't open uo for a while) and give it a twist because it will skim over and harden when it hits the water. Twist it gently onto the rock and hold it for 10-15 secs. Wah-lah. Wait for them to open up and enjoy there beauty! Hope this helped.

I helped Craigar move his tank to his new home. He had zoas on the overflow that were exposed to air for four hours I believe, they all made it through.
