Thanks for possibly saving my eyesight

I was breaking the plug off the bottom of a frag plug, and slipped. I wasn't wearing eye pro.

I squirted pink and gold paly juice in my left eye.

Because of what I learned here and other forums, I immediately dropped everything... Sprinted to the bathroom shedding clothes on the way, and jumped in the shower with my left eye under the shower head for about 10 minutes.

I have no discernible vision loss, but at 18 hours out I do have a red medial sclera.

I'll let you know how it progresses. Thank you all for the knowledge which helped me get to a water source as soon as possible.

Good luck! Hope everything turns out ok! I use a full on face shield that i got from homedepot when I mess with my zoas. My wife thinks I am a nutcase when I do it. I wear pretty strong prescription glasses and my eyesight is really bad as it is so even a small chance of losing what I have freaks me the eff out. Be safe!

Thanks guys.
I've been using saline eye drops.

I usually wear safety glasses when effing with zoas... But got complacent.

Remember... Complacency kills!

Finally called the doc's office. He said this is the 3rd case in his career... 2nd this week. Lol.

He said I did a great job by hitting the shower immediately and probably caused myself a lot less problems. He RX'd a steroid and antibiotic.

Good! Thanks for asking. It's still itchy now and then... But no appreciable eye sight loss, and the conjunctivitis (inflammation/redness) was good after 4 days or so

Good to hear things are going well! I make sure to always wear protective gear when messing with corals.
I remember when K at Fish Etc. was working in his tank and brushed up against a Torch-spawn, (Torch/Frogspawn hybrid). His entire forearm was covered in chemical burns and was miserable for a week! Then I have been careless with my old lionfish on more than one occasion!
This is a valuable reminder to always wear protective gear when messing with our beautiful but dangerous corals.

Girlfriend got home the other day and caught me fragging zoas... With safety glasses, a headlamp, nitrile medical gloves, tweezers and a razor blade.

She almost peed herself laughing at me

Haha, I have the same outfit for fragging...minus the safety glasses...I'm a bit lazy and just wear my eyeglasses. :/

Headlamps are awesome for fragging zoas though!
