I was in commercial for four years- it of course has its ups and downs. However once you are working on a property you may need to take calls at all hours with contracts etc. My last gouse I am in now i was always talking and e-mailing the broker after hours while under contract. So if you are flexible with your time and other job for showings and meetings it can work out.
Get the buyers an get the listings! :)

Yeah I did the schooling but that's it. The market crashed while I was taking the classes lol so I just never did my state test for the license. I may get into it again but I just started a new job so I will stick with this for now.

I use to have my license. You spend a lot of money to keep/use it. Because you pay for school, test, iris, realtor membership and then you have to work for a broker and my have desk fees. So you have to sale something if you want to make money instead of lose money.

I am the full time Broker/Owner of Sharper Colorado Homes, LLC Metro Brokers. Real estate is time consuming and not as easy as it seems. Marinediehard is right about the expenses and to be honest- friends and family usually don't want you learning on them. lol
Feel free to pm me and I would be happy to give you more information.

I definitely want some insight before I jump in with both feet. I'm looking into cherry creek properties for a brokerage just due to the low cost of fees. What are some benefits of the more expensive brokerages?
