Tunze 9002 help

I've had this skimmer for 6 months now and I'm not sure what I gunk of it. I almost feel like I haven't gotten it to work right yet or something. It only pulls out light skimate and not even very much of that. I have it on my 28 gal jbj. Anyone think of anything I might be doing wrong?

1. Remove the pump and ensure that it's clean.
2. Make sure the rubber bubble adjusting hose isn't being kinked
3. Those skimmers are very sensitive to it's sitting water level. If the skimmer is above or below the water line you may get less than optimal results. Also, be sure to keep up with your water top-offs. As mentioned before the skimmer is very particular to water levels.
4. Ensure the water intakes at the bottom of the skimmer body are clean and clear flowing.

How much skimate is extracted correlates to the bioload in the tank. If you have a low bioload you won't have much skimate.

Good luck.

I have had one of these skimmers in a biocube 29 for about a month now and am having a similar problem. I got mine to skim fairly dark skimate but it only skims well for about two days after i clean it out with a brush then it seems to stop skimming completely unless i turn the air up or clean the cup with a brush. mine isn't pulling very much out either about a quarter inch in the cup every 3-4 days. I know that this isn't helpful but thought that since you are having similar problems that I would post too.
