I just want to see some of the expenses that some of the members have had to face. It can be fish related, car related, family related really anything, just thought it would be fun to share some stories of costly events.

I'll start, taking my car into the shop today to get a CV axle replaced, and find out that all my bearings, tie rods, struts and springs and rack and pinion need to be replaced. Walked into the shop thinking it would be $400, ended up being $2,000... But I'm glad that I did my oil and brakes last week, that saved me a couple bucks! Gotta love when the shop calls you up with that deal breaker, almost had to call 911, couldn't believe what I was hearing from the guy.

Now lets hear your horrifying costly expenses.

Truck broke down on the way to a camping spot outside Laramie, WY, had it towed into town, $350, to find out motor lost compression. Rented truck to finish camping trip ($700 for the weekend). Had truck towed to Denver, anothee $350 (thank god for insurance). Used motor, $900, full rebuild motor, change clutch and fly wheel, brakes and transfer case jyst cause I already had it up, another $1500. Only for the crank shadt to break 6 months later

NOW THAT WAS AN EXPENSIVE CAMPING TRIP, well eorth it, finally caught my trophy muskie!

Holy crap munch. I am never getting divorced. My spouse is stuck with me. Did the new owners build another story on top and add an Olympic size pool?

unexpected/horrifying expenses

Lawsuit of 1.3 million from a car accident 2 yrs ago. Attorneys fees cost me 25,000 don't get in a car accident with an old guy and your 24 you will loose even when it says he's 51% at fault. Insurance paid the 1.3 thank god and besides I didn't own a damn thing at that time.

Thought I was getting a screaming deal on a 2002 BMW M5 Dinan S3. Bought it online, had what I thought was a pre buy inspection done on it. Flew out to PA to get my dream car, it was a bit more worn on the interior than I expected from the inspection. Hopped in, fired it up and headed back to WA. In the middle of Nowhereville Indiana, my car developed a death rattle. Then stopped making BMW music all together. I had AAA, so it got towed into Indianapolis and checked out at BMW. $9200 to rebuild the engine. After a bunch of legal fees and drama, the seller gave me my money back, and had to go get the car. I had $22,000 tied up for a year.
Now I am searching for another!

I think the community needs to unite behind this horrible turn of events and help a brother. Can we have a fundraiser at ReefEd to buy Boogie a new ice cream cone?

That is a gorgeous car, but I can understand that things probably go wrong on it. But it was good that you got your money back!

We need to help boogie out and get him a new ice cream!
