lol I plan on finishing it... ran out of money, so i'm waiting til payday so I can buy the siding and fans. The back will be open though and im not worried about my fuses right now, im more worried about the t5 getting too hot from the halide.

I would think it would get really hot. I would keep a close eye on that fixture. Just my .02

I would sell that fixture, and buy a DIY kit for 2 - T5's. Or, take the fixture apart, and mount one bulb on each side, and keep the MH in the middle.

But I've also never had MH lighting. Had everything else, and am now a believer in LED's.

+1 yes its going to get very hot, and melt any plastic, including wire insulation. I dont think any size fan is going to help much.

What size of tank is this? I would also look into the DIY, or eliminating the MH all together.

Tank is a 65 gallon lights are good right now not getting too hot but we will see what happens when I get the sides and front on corals look fantastic right now... Another noob question though, will corals grow under just a 20k halide or do they need actinics?
