I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to all of the great people in this club and remind everyone why MASC is awesome. I joined MASC coming up on a year ago after Reefstock 2013. I joined because of all the great people I met there that had awesome things to say about the club. Since that time I have received multiple donations from club members, sponsors, and the club itself. I rarely walk away from a meeting empty handed and if I've paid for something the person usually throws in something extra. When I've gone to pick up DBTC pieces I usually come away with more than I came for. The people in this club have been awesome. I am the one who is privileged to call many of you friends.

Here are some of the experiences I've had. One member went to a LFS to check on the price for equipment when he knew I was looking for something. I've gone to pick up DBTC pieces and walked away with large frags of high end corals that I wasn't even looking for. When I hosted the swap in December many of the sponsors donated a frag and since the location didn't cost the club anything the club made a donation to the school tank. People have offered and given dry goods, frags, and their immense knowledge base on a regular basis. If I've ever gone to pick up fish that the person couldn't catch they give me something else for my time.

I am proud of how we stick together and look out for each other. You guys and gals are the best!

You know this all registers as propaganda since you're on the BOD now, right?

:p

Thanks for sharing, couldn't agree with you more.

I was a brand new member, came onto the forum looking for a metric ship tonne of help with a bad situation, when this club saved me. I'm not even exaggerating.
Let's just say it started with an ugly end to a relationship. I needed lots of help to manage the tanks and downsize to something that I could handle.
Deboy69 came over and reprogrammed my RK, ReefCheif helped me ID corals that I wanted to sell, MANY MANY members came over and bought those corals, a couple of folks bought whole systems, and a couple of sponsors took the rest of the corals and the big frag flat they were in off my hands. Austin- hell Austin not only rewired and cleaned up the electricals on my tank, he installed an irrigation system and xeriscape, and has just generally been an awesome friend. Speaking of friends... holy cow I can't even start to name them all. You know who you are, and you've all enriched my life in a hundred ways.
And at the same time as Austin was redoing my electrical mess, some dude named MajicMike was redoing the plumbing... and the list of changes that lil project brought to my life is endless.

+1 to always getting more than you came for. Reefchief - I replied too late to a dbtc and he offered an enormous paly rock that i am about to frag and dbtc myself. He certainly didn't have to. Another member gave me a metric ton of frags when i went to buy a couple rocks in a bucket. When a skimmer went out i was given another. Given? I can't even list all the nice people i have met and the things they have done to help me. I cant believe the generosity of folks here - without this club I would have nuked my tank and lost interest long ago. Okay, group hug!!

+1 I havent been in the club for long, but I am constantly overwhelmed by the generosity of the everyone. I have received several dbtc of some very nice corals, just the other night I picked up a zoa rock from opakapaka and he was kind enough to also give me a trumpet frag. Even at the last meeting Gonzo giving us all a piece of the favia blew my mind. I look forward to the day when I can frag out some of my corals and return the favors. You all are the most awesome group I think I have ever met :hail:

I still haven't been able to make a meeting, but everyone I have met has been extremely generous with advice, knowledge, and frags. Love this club, and love this hobby! If my wife got caught up in it, I would probably be in danger of bankruptcy! I can't wait until my frags grow up and I can carve them up and separate them from their mommies and give them new homes!

I have been in this club a long time, from the vary beginning. I have met so many awesome people and have made some life long friends!!! Even though I have been called old timer, old man or the old dude, I would not change those relationships or trade them for the world. A few of them would come over or call and ask for advise when the first got in the hobby and now a few if them are so advanced that I now call them for advice! Hey, I'M NOT OLD DANGIT!

+1 to everything said. This club and these people are amazing. I have seen people go out of their way to help with just about every aspect of this hobby.

Advice is free flowing and beyond simply helpful. I have been saved hundreds of dollars just through simple searches around here. Equipment, fish, and corals change hands daily for free, a small fee, a bit of help, or just because.

The DTBC idea is amazing since it gets these items spread out across the state. This save pulling more animals from the ocean only to die in shipping, and it serves as a backup system in case someone loses an entire tank.

This is a special place, and the people here are second to none.

Why I love this club!

I've been with this club from back when it was RMRC but I don't post much even though I'm on here all day. I have received so much help and support from this club and it's sponsors over that time. When my tank crashed, not only did I get support from some friends on here and convinced me to keep going, but Cris at Aquatic Art really helped me out with new livestock. When I had a skimmer failure and again I was thinking of just giving up and being done with the tank, I generously received a pump for the skimmer....free of charge!! Plus someone delivered it to Denver for me. Thanks again Dillon and Andrew. How do you even repay these things? It makes me strive to be like these club members. I see things like this all the time on the forums

Im coming up on 2 years as member of this club. Ive never been the type to play on forums or anything like that, but coming here was different. Ive gained great friends, great connections, and an immense amount of knowledge, I wouldnt turn back for anything!!

In specific there are 2 people who really stand out in my mind. Mike and Cindy! These guys are probably 2 of the best, most genuine people Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting and I truley consider them friends! Mike went way out of his to build me a custom stand and basically gave me a tank to help keep me in the hobby as I was overwhelmed with my big boy tank and about to give up. Cindy took time out of her days to help with the stand by staining it. They even delivered it to my house. Mike has always been quick to sell me a frag of something in his tank (acutally usually just give it to me) if I wanted it and Cindy has always been over generous whenever I asked for something, weather it be cheato or brittle stars! On top of this Mike helped me get my son into the hobby. Gave us a steal of a deal on the tank, even though the tank we got ended up not working for the space we had it got Adam fired up to have a tank.

Ive had plenty of other good encounters with members of this club, but this is the one that stands out the most for me.
