Hello all...new to the forum and new to the hobby. Lots of experience with freshwater but I know this is a whole new ballgame. I've spent about a month just researching and planning and now I'm ready to get on with a slow start.

As the title states, I'm looking for a 100+ gallon reef ready setup. My best case scenario would be a complete setup with everything except for fish and maybe corals, basically turnkey. I would hope to get at least liverock/sand and maybe even a clean up crew with it. If not no biggie, I really don't want to piece a system together though. I want to take my time and do it right. I'll add fish slowly and responsibly keeping my bioload balanced.

Anyhow, I want to stay at $800 or less for everything and MAYBE up to $1k for the right setup/deal. I've seen some 160's and 175's go recently for under $1k for everything so I don't think I'm out of the realm of possibilities. Thanks everyone and I'm looking forward to becoming a learning member that hopefully will quickly turn into a useful member not long after. I figured more sets of eyes on the prowl for a great reef deal is better than one! :D

Thanks all,

Evan

I've got all my live rock & sand available. CHEAP. I have to have it gone by Saturday.
I will just work out prices with you on the pieces you want, all rocks have been cultured for
2 years, lots of coraline algae and corals too. I can even give you a rubber tub to keep them
in water until you get your tank. Look for my post... Wes

Not what I'm really hoping to do. It's kind of like building up a car (lifting a Jeep, customizing a sports car, etc). The original owner never gets to recoupe his investment when selling. Someone willing to enjoy 'used' equipment gets a great deal. I've been on both sides many times. ;)

How much do you have, most of the tanks I'm looking at and/or considering are 125+ gallons.

I hear ya...I've lost my rear end many times over the years, though mostly in modified cars/jeeps...I guess it stands to happen in any hobby. (cars being my other!) ;)
