Post #24 in this thread shows the last pic I took. I did make some tweaks after this pic, so I'll try to repost a final pic.

Basically got a 1G pitcher from Walmart, a Maxi Jet 400, vinyl tubing that fits on the Maxi Jet, zip ties, eggcrate, and some mesh plastic canvas (hobbyist store), and put it all together. The trick is to position the vinyl tubing that flows into the pitcher so that the pellets tumble. You position it using egg crate and zip ties. Definitely a ghetto DIY project, but only cost a few bucks and works for me!

There are other DIY plans out there that give you a less flimsy, but still cheap, reactor.

Thanks I really appreciate it hope I get this nitrate problem figured out because it the only reason I want to get a biopellet going on and more then anything I want to know the reason that's making it get so high quick

Nitrates/phosphates that are hard to knock down, even with water changes, are a good reason to use them IMO. They do take a while to start working, though, once you start them. At least a month. And if you rush them, bad bad things happen. It is good to try to figure out why you have high nitrates in the first place, and keep up water changes of course, while you are waiting for them to work.

It is good to try to figure out why you have high nitrates in the first place, and keep up water changes of course, while you are waiting for them to work.

Thats what I heard and have seen. A friend of mine with 360 gallon reef tank added too many pellets and his tank crashed. It takes some time sometime for the bacteria to start eating those pellets. For now Ill just keep up with the water changes till I get the biopellet
