Yep standard RJ11 I belive. One other thing to consider is oxidation. If you are getting communication errors is it likely the contacts on the the cable. I have experienced this with my reefkeeper as well and had good success by cleaning the contacts really well with a tooth brush an swabbing with q-tips dipped in a vinegar/baking soda solution to remove any oxidation left on the contacts.

to prevent further issues I use dielectric grease on the contacts to prevent further corrosion. You can get a tube of the grease at most automotive stores.

Ya I have had it happen before also, did u clean the of 4 also. Where did u find them or did u buy from DA.
Sorry don't understand the first part. You should be able to find any standard RJ12 cable at radio shack or maybe even Home Depot or lowes.

Make sure that any cable you get says RJ12 (6P6C), Straight or it will not work.

Report back your findings Charlie as I'm curious to see if you are able to find locally. I searched everywhere and came up short but hopefully you'll have greater success than I. If you come up short mono price is only $3.24 shipped or I have some cables here in Highlands Ranch should you be down this way.

Good point it does depend on how its pinned. I would be very surprised if Radio Shack did not have them, but then again Radio Shack is not what it used to be.

Charlie,
What kind of issues are you having with your ReefKeeper?

So the sl1 is blining as well as the of 4s is like the head unit can't connect to the sl1 or pc4s.

Can I clean the cables? Using the vinager and baking soda mix u talk about.
Wouldn't hurt! You also don't need to use baking soda with the vingar but it does sometimes help to get to are to reach areas though. For example I sometime remove the cable and just dangle the end in the solution. Power off of course.

If you dont see any signs of oxidation this might not be the issue. Most of my equiptment is under the stand with the sump so there was noticeable buildup on mine or at least it was before I started using the grease.

When was the last time you did a firmware update? If you have a net module you can do it online now which is nice. They fixed allot of quirky weird stuff i was seeing with the last update. It seems they are try to make the product better and their support has been much better also. Although probably still not nearly up to par with Neptune.

Man I was just setting up my rkl again last night and noticed rhe second pc4 wasn't registering. unplugged everything to find corrosion on the buss cable end, gonna hit it with some vinegar and hope it works. I also have an SIDv2 if you're down in the springs and wanna swing by sometime you could borrow. Always wanted to meet you, love the carpet nem thing you got going
