You have to get it from a vet :/
...in the US

You're legally allowed to purchase the product from Australia and have it shipped, without a prescription.

That being said, I've talked to my vet and they will prescribe it. If you can provide documentation of why you are requesting the medication (eg forum posts/articles recording the efficacy), most vets are very easy to work with. It always helps if you already have a relationship with the vet from other pets...but it's not too difficult to pick up.

Also keep in mind not all Vets realize that these types of animal medications are used in the saltwater hobby. Our vet had absolutely no idea what I was talking about last time I asked for it and was very reluctant to prescribe.

Yea...that's why I suggested bringing some sort of documentation so that they can see that it's commonly used in the hobby. My vet was reluctant until I provided this article: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2010/3/corals

Unfortunately for me, at the time Interceptor had just been pulled from the market and they already discarded whatever samples they had laying around. They did at least look for me though.

Just got home from a trip--I asked my wife about it ( a DVM) and Thundertwonk is correct- Novartis stopped making the Interceptor(Milbemycin / Praziquantal). Another verson is Sentinel- this one is (Luferon/Milbemycin).... Now the LUFERON kills more species of worms.- thus a better de-wormer.

She told me the two parts to Interceptor are: 1. Milbemycin and 2. Praziquantal. The "prazi" is the de-wormer, and the milbemycin kills invertebrates.(scary for us?)

But me being new, and planning a FOWLR, I have to ask would you rather have JUST the Praziquantal by itself? It is possible to get that one isolated, and possibly Lufenuron.

The key drug is Milbemycin which is the one that kills red bugs without it at this point any of the other options are untested for safety and effectiveness.

Srsly! That's a million dollar idea for the company that'd make it for reefers.
