Anyone in Westminster/Broomfield area - I could really use some pods for mandarin....really depleted quickly and new ones are microscopic. PM if you are willing.
Head up to liquid kingdom. They have some. Get two bottles and some live phyto. One goes in the tank to appease the mandarin. The other bottle goes into two 8×13 plastic cake pan filled 1" deep with saltwater. Add enough phyto so it has a green tint to the water when looking sideways, but looks almost clear from above. After 2 weeks you can harvest half from one cake pan (alternating) weekly and top off with fresh saltwater and a little phyto. You will get roughly 500-1000 pods per week with this approach.
Also target feed your mandarin blood worms. 90% of them dont even care that they are frozen food. I think its the way they wiggle. They seem to all go for them after a few tries.

Aquamart is actually starting to carry these large clear bags of them probably 10xs as many pods I mean you can really see em thick in the bag. Same price 25 dollars as the bottles.
Has anyone bought the live phyto from liquid kindom and started culturing it? I am thinking about setting up to grow it as I have a electric flame scallop that has to have it so it would be nice to learn how to do this and save some money
this is 100% the way to go. Best stuff out around locally, I've seen better results from 1 bag of pods from AB then I've seen doing any other pod orders online or out of a bottle at other stores.
Those two carry algae barn pods and phyto for the same price algae barn sells individual bottles for. If you need to buy in bulk, strait from them is cheapest, but for 1 or 2 bottles, its the same price at a LFS for their product.
