If you have an ato and dont mind a little extra evaporation, you would probably be better off just using a small fan to evaporatively cool the tank. A 6" walmart fan (cost me $12) cools my 125 gallon no problem even when the ambient temp in the room is 85+ degrees.
I guess I should start by saying it is a 29 gallon cube. I have a rapid led kit, a koralia 480, a wp10, submersible fuge light and a mj1200. Tank is in a house 72 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit and I can't keep it below 81 or 83
Those lights are definately running hot enough to cause that temp spike. I would actually recommend this route over a chiller since the lights are definately the cause of the high temps. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2075538
I switched my fans to be both intakes when switching to leds because I read it somewhere. The exhaust vent is pretty much in the middle of the heatsink. I don't have heat problems. But I also have a newer coralife version of the biocube. Maybe something to try if you can.
Here is a pic of my hood. I also upgraded the fans slightly more powerful but quieter than stock
