I decided that this thread will take too much of my time. I guess i will have to leave it to the experts to decide on the pricing. There are people who disagree on what I am doing and the last thing I want is someone angry at me when i can just avoid it. Sorry for anyone looking forward to this thread...Maybe one day :) Mod please close.

All those prices seem about right to me for base prices in-town. I think you will see slightly more than that at Colorado vendors and a lot of the online prices will be 50-100% more than what you have listed.

I really like this "blue book" idea to give people both buyers and sellers a good idea of what the going rates are. lets make a master list!

Just because that's what you're willing to pay, doesn't mean others wouldn't be willing to pay more or less. This is something you should keep to yourself.

Lol...No need to hate on him...looks like this was just posted for informational purposes. With all the new members we have gotten it might be help full to some of them to understand pricing and rarity.

You guys are over complicating this every single coral if you look on the bottom has a upc for standardized pricing.

It is kind of nice to have an idea of what something is worth, I know I did buy a 4 polyp frag of the very rare green button paly when I first started for 20 bucks. This was the same person who started me with a frag of xenia telling me it was also very rare. His price guess-timations were based on how hard it was to grow both those corals in his tank.
But considering the only filtration he ran was a homemade sock filter containing about a pound of waste and his lighting still had a home depot sticker on the set of shop lights his appraisal might be a bit off.

A fish list would be really nice as well, but both lists are kind of hard to dial in. So much supply/demand fluctuations.

One thing I can say is our local guys at least the ones I have dealt with either at their place of business or shows are more than fair vs online sales.

I don't disagree on the pricing listed. I personally would have rounded up, like $20 for CARs instead of $18. It's a good list, but something is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. If you are new, you need to do your own online research to get a baseline. Then deal with guys that have been doing this for a while. Everyone on this site has very fair prices, so no need to worry about getting taken.

And not to mention I for example had some one come over this last weekend that is new to the hobby and I have him about 30 polyps and some other corals for 50 bucks in no way did I make money but if he had seen a " price list" I'm afraid he would have been hesitant on agreeing to letting me put together a pack for him. But on the other hand a price list is good in the sense when someone had polyps that are mote rare or harder to propagate and wants a mear 15pp when retail is 20+ and people say that is to much......urks ky chain lol

I think its nice that there is a generalized price estimate for us new hobbists. I look online for prices but its hard to estimate what the "markup" is. Don't even get me started at some of the LFS (not all) but one I was just in was about 200%-400% higher than what I could get on here. The prices also gives me a little insight on rarity as well.

from a vendor stand point i agree with most of the prices. but it gives us a decent reference what everything is going for locally . and what i should keep on hand :)

I second that!! I hear all this talk about bam bams and eagle eyes and what not and feel like an idiot when everyone else knows what they look like!!

I will take pictures of all the zoa/palys and will link them to their names so when you click it you will be linked to their pictures. This will take time and I will be updating this as well as the list. If you have any pictures that you have taken and wouldnt mind me using it pm me with the pictures and maybe I will use it for this thread.
