I put a small zoa garden together for a raffle scheduled the 1st or 2nd week of Dec. The proceeds will go to the purchase of 1 or 2 rays for the school. The rest will go the MASC website maintenance.

Gaging interest. Is it better to have more tickets? I was thinking

10 tickets at $40
20 tickets at $20
40 tickets at $10

Zoas currently on the 4in rock 30+ polyps
Rainbow Infusions
Purple Monsters
Pink Constellation

I would say $1 for 1. Makes the math easy and people can customize how many they want to buy. It would also be advantageous to give some extra tickets away as a bulk deal, i.e. $20 for 25 tickets. That helps to encourage people to buy more. Just my thoughts...

Yep, $1 for 1 ticket and $20 for 25 makes sense, as that is how we always do our raffles at events.
I would also say that maybe other would like to add frags to the pot too? I have have a frag or two I could add in as well

I would be interested in the raffle, the 1 for $1 makes the most sense but will ruin my odds hahah

The only problem I see is with the number of tickets that need to be given out. $350 is the goal for the rays and site.

I planned on a remote raffle. Someone did a FB live one time that worked. Cause I won. Jk :) I was thinking about doing it on youtube since I don't have FB. Probably won't be 1 for 1 but maybe $5 each. That makes 70 tickets available.

I can write names on them as they're purchased and send the ticket numbers to everyone. I'm open to ideas. I have venmo and PayPal for payment. Cash works if I see you.

I plan on giving the zoas another month to grow so it'll probably be 40-50 polyps by the time we're ready. The tank won't be ready for the fish until January so we'll have time to get tickets out.

I might suggest calling some local fish stores in the area and see if any of them would be willing to donate a frag / $20 dollars of store credit, etc. Would encourage more participation and get some of the local businesses involved. Maybe offer to put up a small sticker or something on the corner of the stand as advertisement. I did something similar years ago in college for a raffle, and tons of restaurants donated $10-$50 gift cards with just a simple call.

That sounds pretty good. I'm in for $10 paypal how ever you decide to do it.
I like Stithe's idea too. Get some lfs's involved and maybe sell more tickets for a bigger prize.

I meant to start it yesterday but got busy and totally spaced it out.

Raffle tickets are $5 each. 70 is the goal but I will still run the raffle regardless of goal being met.

Raffle will be held Dec 15th. I'll post a YouTube video of the drawing.

Current zoa count. I'll add a frag of choice to the open frag hole. It's easier for me to move open. I'll present options to the winner.

Payments available Venmo, PayPal or Zelle.
