Do u know if he ever gets pairs or trios in? For me I'd like to have a pair or trio that gets along which can be tricky w helfrickis from what I understand.

Did you get a couple? Do they get along? I've read a ton that they are very aggressive to conspecifics. Sometimes even as a mated pair.

mine are just purple firefish. they're too busy being afraid of everything to fight each other lol they sleep in the same hole under a rock and seem to get along

Thanks! I had pretty much decided that was what I was going to get too as I have heard they are not nearly as agressive to each other as the helfricki, and alot more affordable. But if a good deal came along ...

firefish have a 3 year lifespan too so why spend so much on them? They could be half dead when you get them or more just on lifespan alone.
