Hi all.
I have decided to replace my ancient heavy stupid laptop with a tablet. Because I have to be able to run a specific kind of software on it, it can't be an iPad. Must have a Windows operating system. (Yes, I know. PITA, but there's nothing I can do about it.) I don't want to connect it to a data plan and pay monthly fees. Just want to have something with a large screen but thin and light that can connect to a wireless network.

Does anyone have something like this? What ones should I be looking at? I'm not a techie type, so if you use big fancy words please explain them simply.

Thanks in advance!

the only windows one right now is the Microsoft Surface, but you cannot install anything that doesnt come from the windows store. they are coming out with a pro version in a few months that you can load programs like a regular computer but it might be pricey. also the screen is only 10.1 inch.

I'm willing to wait on it to get the right one, but that's awfully small. I might have to go with another laptop if there's not a good tablet out there with Windows.

or the android tablets?
I have specialty software that has to be loaded on it, requiring windows. it's looking like my only option is another laptop.

debating between the Asus Zenbook and the Toshiba. Anyone have either one?
