algae on coral?

#1
i just picked up some new lps frags and i got a bargain because they had been neglected. they had a bit of algae on them so i took them out and scrubbed most of it off with a new tooth brush but i bought them saturday and they arent open completely. and there is still a bit of algae on them. whats the best way i can completely rid them of the algae and get them healthier? thanks

i do not have a camera right now, its hair algae and the corals are favia, pagoda, sun coral, and candy cane, then another type of brain. they are not exactly covered it is just on the rocks they are on and on the outer edges of their skeleton.

If you have a solid clean up crew of snails and hermits they should make quick work of that algea. Scarlet hermits are especially good in my tank cleaning any algea that may be growing on any new corals.

Take a tweezers and gently pull the algae off of your corals and plugs.

Did you scrub the coral, or the plug/rock the coral was on?

How long were they out of the water for?

How old is this tank? Is it fully cycled yet? How are your water tests looking?

the tank has been set up for 6-7 months, its perfectly fine i had a large birdsnest and monti that just died because of a small lighting crisis (bulb i ordered broke so had to reorder) so i know my tank can handle lps. my parameters are fine

ammonia-0
mitrite-0
mitrate-0
phosphate-0
calcium-550
salinity-1.025
pH-8.3

i did my best to not damage the living coral tissue while scrubbing them. i mostly scrubbed them in the water but i took them out for at most 20 seconds to get the really bad patches.
