I had same issue when trying to update it and failed. Had to reset it about twenty times before the screen came back on. Was just about to give up but kept trying out of frustration. It's been running great ever since so doesn't appear to have left long term issues.

Sorry - I just figured out how to auto-subscribe to threads I post on so your comment was lost. Hopefully by now this is resolved. If not, mine is about a year old - bought used so can't say exactly. The biggest issue I had is you absolutely have to have all connections be wired. It uses a pre-historic method of communicating and absolutely no WiFI can be involved in any part of the setup. This is difficult considering modern computers don't have ethernet ports. I have an old iMac that is wired so was able to finally get it updated successfully. As far as what removed the blue screen, I have no idea. It was pure repetition of reset device, reset device, reset device, etc etc etc. finally, it worked.

...also, that was on my first day of owning an Apex. My excitement in owning one went from a 10 to a 0 real quick. What a horrible setup for updating hardware. I recommend never updating unless you have something critical that requires it. I will never update again if not absolutely required. I create software for a living and would never be able to keep a job if my solutions worked like that.
