I have a little project I want to work on and was thinking about buying a 40 gallon tank at the petco $1 per gallon sale. I realized that it doesn't have to be a new tank, and scratches wont be an issue. I do need it to be 4 ft long though. If you have anything like that let me know and I'm sure we can work something out.

Hmmmm, might be able to use it, what would you want for it and where are you located?

Matt you do realize the 40 breeder is 36" in length ya? However the 55 is also in the $1 per gallon sale....

Yeah, it wouldn't be a breeder, a standard 40 is 48x13x16 but I called around and none of the petco's have one. I really just want to build a temporary frag tank and start fragging my corals and selling my livestock. a 55 might work but a former lizard cage has ammonia in the calking that may be in issue. I need to start selling this stuff off before we move. I have a bunch of huge SPS colonies that I need to start fragging and moving. Unless you guys know of any vendors that want to buy big colonies.

I have a 55 gal that used to be my display tank. It's scratched up and the glass has some foggy looking spots. It's been in the garage for 6 months now. I was going to use as sump someday, but that is not happening anytime soon. I'm willing to swap for frags or sell for cheap.

I think I found a solution, but will keep you in mind if it doesn't work out.
