Are mp10's worth it?

I am thinking about getting an mp10 to replace a couple of the koralias that I am currently running in my biocube 29. I was hoping to get your thoughts before I drop $220.00 on one. Are they worth it? Do they work well? Do they hold up?
Thanks!

it has its pros and cons ...i have one in my tank and when it went out i went weeks with just an maxi jet hanging in there, actually noticed more PE too

it is a lot of cash to drop on "power head" but its alot cleaner looking, only need one (i assume), more control over it ...so its a nice toy and it looks good but i think the same things can be accomplished with other power heads as far as a happy healthy tank
that being said i like mine alot if only for the fact it looks better in my tank ...i ended up buying two replacement (all my fault) wet-sides and a new controller this year alone

theres and mp40 for $225 on here ...you could just buy that instead and run it turned down and that way you will get your $ if you ever wanted to sell it

IDK a 40 on a biocube that’s gonna be pretty bulky. I have been resisting the urge to put an MP10 one on my 28 nano just for the shear fact that I don’t want it right in the middle of my view from one side. You could put it up in the corner i suppose but I’m not sure that would be a very good placement and probably would defeat the purpose. Is it worth it? I can’t speak from personal experience but from what I know of people who have them they are worth every penny.

However given the design of the biocube I don’t think the mp10 is the best option. IMO two hydor nanos mounted one third the way down on the back wall of the overflow running on a wave maker is just about as good or better and IMO is much more aesthetically pleasing not to mention cheap. I think JBJ makes a cheap wave maker that works great with the hydor nanos, it’s what I have on mine and have been very pleased.

I have an MP10, I need to spend more time on learning the programming and it does seem to work well. I got lucky and won it at the Elite Reef fest, don't know if I would buy one.

I feel that a mp40 would be way to much for a biocube. Right now I have three koralia nanos and I was looking for a way to lessen everything that I have in my tank while increasing the wave motion. I have been thinking about an mp10 now for almost a year and finally have the money to buy one. BUT IM SO CONFUSED lol. those of you that have one on a cube what mode do you use? Have you ever gotten enough wave motion to risk it going over the top of the tank?

I have 1 hydor nano placed in the middle upper 1/3 back of my 29 cube and I seem to get plenty of flow. All my corals are growing and happy. IMHO, I don't think I could justify spending that kind of money on an MP10.

I personally think they are worth the money. They are capable of putting a wave over the edge of the tank, but this is easily avoided with proper placement, flow rate, and program. I keep mine on the reef crest random setting and while there is not a wave motion it creates the random flows that corals prefer.
