Blacktip Fromia Starfish

Anyone ever see this happen to a starfish or know what it might be from? Looks like 2 puncture wounds that now appear to be oozing flesh.

There is a hammer colony and a Hollywood Stunner in the tank, possibility that it got stung by one if them and this happen? Only a 6 line and a elbi tang in the tank and I can't imagine one of them nipping it but could be wrong.

Any experienced thoughts are appreciated

My pink one had something kinda similar the other day. All of a sudden he was missing chunks of his arms and has some missing from his main body as well. I took him out as I figured he was pretty much dead. He didn't move for a few days and he could hold onto the glass any more.

They can shed limbs, but I don't have a lot of starfish experience.

How do these types of starfish reproduce? Is it possible hes splitting? Im with MattL, i dont much about starfish. I hope its OK though, that's a great looking speciman!

They are def wounds I think, but could be wrong. Sort of looks like when flesh melts off from a dying Sps.

Maybe damaged himself on the rock work?
