Bubbling Rock After LED Upgrade

#1
I upgraded the lights in my 72 reef from CF to LEDs about 3 weeks ago and almost instantly my live rock began to give off tons of little bubbles. I am sure its some sort of algae growth, but there is nothing visibly different on the rock, except for the thousands of tiny bubbles everywhere. I have taken a power head and blown them all off, but they just come right back.

Anyone else experience this? If so, how long did it last? I really dig these new lights and my corals all seem to agree, but the bubbles are a bit bothersome.

Never seen that before. Do you have any pics?

The only thing that comes to mind is that it's dinos that were always present, just unnoticed until the switch. I'm just guessing without actually seeing it, of course.

Looks like the algae is off gasing. This is due to the increased lighting from the LEDs. You may not notice more algae now if you have good water quality. But let it slip and it will take off. This happened when I upgraded to my vertex fixture.

This tank is rock solid, so nitrates are never an issue, but I am hopeful that this will eventually stop. I did notice today that it gets worse as the day goes on, so I may have to cut my hours down a bit. Thanks for the info!
