Does anyone know what kind of bulb this is?It doesn't look like the hqi I find online. It's on a 400 watt pulse start Hamilton ballast

That looks like the right ends. The other ones I seen were a bit different. It's a 400 watt ballast though. Thanks!

400w DE bulbs look just like that... they are bigger than the 250W versions by about half of an inch, or so.

Is there no writing on the glass, even if it is REALLY faint?

The square holding wires makes me think its an Icecap bulb. But might also be a PFO but I believe they etched the bulb.

Hamilton's and Superreef bulbs both have rounded holding wires.
