Is the Co2 used for soda the same as what you would get from a welding supply. Are they the same pressure of tanks? I may be able to get C02 from a restaurant owner, not sure if it's different, or anything I need to be concerned about. Appreciate your feedback (for a Calc reactor) //Dave

So I'll ask about the liquid vs the gas to my friend. Then ask how much he can get me one for (with the initial bottle and if it's gas.) I assume the regulators (haven't purchased yet) are only for the gas. I'm read up on the CA reactor, but not the CO2 portion. Thanks everyone for your input.

I use CO2 for welding all time if it's just run of the mill mild steel. I only use argon for stainless. I believe it's the same you would use for a calcium reactor or soda machine.

Not all the time
Well professional welding we use argon yes you can but not recommended as you can get a dirty weld. I'm a certified welder. We never use co2. Co2 can cause air pockets in the weld. Anyway back on topic sry.

What a thread, I not only got a good answer, but now I know why argon gas is better than Co2 for welding. Reef on.

Maybe that's why my aluminum welding sucks so bad!
