Colorado shipping in winter...

So... I am just about ready to start stocking up my tank. Most of my options for livestock are going to be shipping because I live in Vail. How risky is this as winter approaches? Obviously if there is a storm coming all bets are off, but other than that how safe is shipping?

Thanks!

I got a lot of stuff shipped to me over the winter last year without issue. Everything I received came with a heat pack and arrived from a reputable source. You should be fine as long as you didnt order from a schmuck.

Just make sure it doesn't get left on your doorstep all day. You want to make sure someone is home to bring the package inside if you're not there. Or, have it shipped to your work.

Awesome. I'd have it shipped to my work. There is always someone to receive it and then I can go home. Pretty quick turn around. So as long as it is good in transit is my big concern.

Don't live walking distance to vail. But do work at the base of the beaver creek gondola. ;) unfortunately parking is going to be much stricter this year. But not as big o deal at the beav with the free lots and bus shuttle.

As long as the package doesn't say "live animals" on it, that seems to make it a bulls eye for abuse in transit.

how far is the nearest distribution center from you?

I believe both fedex and ups distribution centers are in eagle, which is about 25 min from me.
