Wow what is the world coming too?

MY Condolences, Thoughts and Prayers go out to all of the Connecticut Families whos loved ones were stripped from their lives this morning!

I ask each of you to make sure you tell those whom you love and care about that you love them and always be as friendly, kind, caring and loving as possible because heart breaking tragedy like this seems to be a frequent occurrence anymore.

DON'T FORGET TO HUG YOUR LOVED ONES AND TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am extremely sad and completely disgusted this keeps happening in our society. Don't know the answer but something needs to change.

This was absolutely horrific to hear. It's painful to see people hurting at the hand of a brother, but the pain is magnified tenfold knowing the victims were babies. I feel so bad for the parents of the fallen knowing they will never look into their bright curious eyes again. They will no longer get to hold them in front of the TV on the couch and laugh at their favorite program. The feeling of helplessness they will endure for the rest of their lives. My heart goes out to the fallen and I pray that their loved ones may someday feel comfort again.

If anything, let us at least have a reminder from all this that life is short and precious. Remember that the fights and arguments we have amongst ourselves are trivial and only push us further apart. Let us try to put our differences aside and remember that we are here to help each other stand tall. Love be with you all.

People taking advantage of the second amendment to hurt kids. I have no hope for the human race because of what these sick and selfish people do. Maybe the world should end on the 21st to keep us from facing our own destruction?

I agree. I think the most overlooked aspect of all of this is mental health. There are so few mental health professionals in this country. I think mental health should be as routine as physical health, both in insurance coverage and availability to see a doctor. That alone would AT LEAST leave a documented trail of issues with a person and it may ultimately keep several people from completely snapping.

In my mind, we need to acknowledge that with a weapon comes a sense of power, a sense that naturally garners ill people like in this situation to be overtaken by this power and allow it to effect many in a horrible way. This is something that has throughout history been proven, power is something that exposes the bad in any man, in this case that power is the ability to bring the worst upon someone. This is catalyzed by mental illness, I think Blazinjack sums this up well.

This is further evidence that we need to follow the example of communities and states that have reduced violent crime by upholding the Second Amendment. We all know that criminals, and the unbalanced, will never obey the law. We need to stop creating "designated victim zones", where law-abiding (licensed/permitted) citizens who are otherwise allowed to protect themselves are denied their right to do so. Schools and churches are frequent targets because criminals know the inhabitants are forced to be defenseless. Nobody goes on the offensive at gun shows, hunting clubs, or NRA meetings. Why can't we simply uphold the Constitution, thereby reducing these senseless acts?

I understand that those among you who would like to see all of the power in the hands of the government, and none in the hands of the people, will make some feeble argument. Quite simply - if you fear freedom, move to a country that already has an oppressive government

So please if you want to start a thread to argue gun control please feel free to do so. This however was a thread out of respect and condolences to those who lost their family members today as well as reminder for you to make sure you always love, support and take care of those whom you love, and a reminder that life is more than short and is nothing short of being extremely precious.
