Crown molding

I'm putting some crown molding on my canopy. I bought the pre-made corners, the issue is that they sit 1/8" further than the rest of the crown. To me, it looks terrible. Is there a way to raise the rest of the crown to match the corners? Should I sand down the corners? Should I take back the corners and use the saw to cut the crown? Will Lowes take back the corners if there are finish nails through them?

Ok, I'm ditching those.

I have a miter saw, it's that all I need to cut the crown to the right angles?

I was told finish nails and a tap to actually mount the crown. I'll then plaster over the holes and paint. Is that all?

chop saw, sanding blocks, patients and a finish nailer are a must. almost impossible to get the corners right without a nail gun

Ya I just use white/clear caulk to cover the finishing nails, I have a brad nailer so it goes quick.....Up to you you can bring it down or I can come up and we can knock it out in like 30 min.

I am going to do the crown on mine this weekend

I prefer 3-M 2 part resurfacer, or lightweight spackle as neither will shrink.
