Custom Cube Reef Tank For Sale

Well, after a long time of the tank sitting here it's time to move on. I built a custom tank a few years ago and just never got around to getting it up and going. It's in brand new condition. I water tested the sump and main display tank with no issues. The stand it built like a rock from custom cherry wood. It's very well done, from high quality materials, to the people that built the pieces. The tank and sump are both made by ADHI. The wood stand is done by a custom house builder who works on tanks as a hobby. Please feel free to ask any questions. I will put the dimensions and what is included below.

1) Tank Main Display: 36L x 36W x 30H -- 3/4" acrylic -- Top quality Brand New -- Had sand it in for about 1 week than broke the tank down. Might have a few hair line scratches, but nothing a quick buff wouldn't take out.
Price: $1200.00

1A) Sump: 32L x 20W x 19.5H (see pictures) / Refugium style with custom light that fits perfect on top. Ready for plug and play. Have some plumbing laying around that you can have with it
Price: $400

2) Stand: 36L x 36W x 40H -- I wanted this as a stand height tank so you didn't have to bend over to see everything inside the display -- Includes built in fan to keep temp and humidity down. Stand has been modified to fit in a standard door, had to cut down on large table saw 2" off the back to fit. You can't barely see it when it's fully assembled. I can send pics if you are interested.

Canopy: 37L x 37.75W x 19H -- 2 doors in the front and opens from the top as well (see photo bucket link for photos) / Please keep in mind that all the lighting is professionally installed and ready to go, so breaking it up would take hours that I don't really have time for. I would rather sell it as a unit of some kind, so contact me if you want to work out a deal. You will see from the photos it is ready to go.
Price: $1250.00 stand and canopy only / $2050.00 includes the lights, reflectors, and ballasts

4) Reeflo Snapper Pump -- Brand New in Box
Price: $250.00

5) Lumenmax Elite Set of 2 -- Brand New in Box
Price: $125 each / $250 for the set

6) Icecap 660 Ballast -- Brand New
Price: $125.00

7) Current USA TrueLumen Aquatic LED Strip -- Brand New
Price: $30.00

8) Icecap Electronic ballast 400 watt model# Pl-Pac 400mh/120 -- Brand New
Price: $100 each / $200 for the set

9) ASM G3 with Sedra KSP 5000 Pump (low profile skimmer cup) -- Used
Price: $200.00

10) Ushio 400W 10k Bulbs -- 2 -- Brand New In Box
Price: $60.00 each / $120 for the set

Here is the link for the Photo Bucket folder to see all the photos of the tank as a complete unit and the installation I have done. Basically, this is plug and play for any salt enthusiast. This was a dream that I just couldn't finish all the way and now it's sitting here. It really belongs up and running so someone can enjoy it.

Ok, down to the nitty gritty. I would rather see this go as a complete set to someone rather than break off pieces. The stand and canopy are pretty useless without the tank, so it would be a shame to sell just the tank? I would consider taking $2500 cash for the whole set-up. That's about half the pricing I was asking originally. This isn't your DIY special or your garage build, this was all done professionally. I don't do things half *** and this should speak for that. Make me an offer, let's find this tank a new home where is can be displayed and enjoyed. If anyone has thoughts on the best stores in town I was planning on going to a few to drop off a flyer today. I know aquatic arts and aquamart, but any others would be greatly appreciated. The tank is at a warehouse with a full crew of people, so loading it up will be super easy.

Thanks,
J

I'd drop off a flyer at all the stores, lots of different people frequent different stores.

Also try advertising on the national sites, seems to be a variety of income there.

Some stores may also do consignment especially for such a nice setup. Something else to consider since they might be able to get you closer to that price.

I'll vouch for (John) jreeceaspen. I've seen this tank many times and it is very very nice. I came very close to buying it myself many times but it was just too large for the space I had which is why I ended up with the 60g cube I have instead.

Honestly don't think a Lfs would want to help sell your tank. They would rather sell someone a tank from there store. Awesome tank and might be easier if you separate what I have.

Jonathan...posted this on the ad for your tank in the "craigslist deal of the day" section.

Long time Jonathan! Hope all is well?!? If I weren't moving I'd look at throwing you an offer for sure. I ended up having to sell my big tank with all the stuff I got from you because of my potential move, which is finally happening now.

For those interested, Jonathan is a stand up guy...couldn't hope to interact with anyone better. There is no "buyer beware" here...it is primo stuff and an awesome build, so don't expect to get it for nothing. ;)

I'm a business owner and if I can make a buck than I would want to do so? Let's see, just breaking in down in common sense:

1) I have no cash out of pocket (equipment is all supplied and sold AS IS)
2) If someone buys the tank than most likely I'm going to be able to sell them supplies, animals, ect.......plus more if I want to install it
3) 10% commission on a sell, around $2500, that's $250 (or $500 if they can sell it for more) I had do absolutely nothing for other than supply some space (or even better just sell it with the flyer I can supply)

I'm just saying man, seems like a win win to me. I understand they have there own stuff on the floor and I get all that, but the person who buys this tank isn't the same customer buying a start 20g cube. This is going to need quiet a bit of extra's to get up and running.

Just looking at from a SBO perspective.

The frustration stems for the fact that everything in this hobby is a complete loss including animals? I'm not frustrated with Charlie and I understand what he is saying. What upsets me is that all my equipment is brand new and I won't get 25% back on what I spent (go figure LED lights are the rage now). I guess you can see where I'm coming from. I appreciate you guys letting me use this forum to post my stuff. Thanks again. I know everyone out there has lost animals along with complete systems and it sucks. I can't say the same for guns or motorcycles? They can be fixed and brought back from the dead. Animals have to be flushed down the toilet and chaulked up to bad luck or inexperienced reefers. I hate to see the death of animals, but I guess that's natures way (even though they are being taken out of the ocean). I'm glad to see more people propagating now than back when I was doing this. That's my two cents.

Was this stand modified to get it in the house? Or does it fit thru a standard door?
