Hey all,

So decided since no one wants all the stuff I have laying around I might as well make use of it. Going to set up a 24X36X8 frag tank in the basement. Nothing crazy, just thought about the amount of coral that had disappeared in my tank over the years and thought I'd see if I could set up a backup. So I'm wondering about lighting and coverage. I have always gone with T5s. Not completely sold, could be talked into MH but it would need to be a good argument. I was thinking of 4 bulbs, 36" long spread 6" apart over the top. Enough? My 150 has 6 across but it is also much deeper so I'm thinking that the minimal depth of the frag tank and the ability to bring the lights down as close to the water as necessary may mean less bulbs? Love some thoughts.

Use what you have on your display, if you are just growing corals for you. If you want to start to farm, then use what the farmers use for what you want to grow.
