Has anyone had issues with returning warnty items at keys island

#1
was wondering if anyone else has had issues, I bought a pump from keys in feb of this year. took a couple of months to build sump and finish the tank set up. Finally finished filled with water started pump and low and behold bad pump. took the pump back to keys and have got the run around from the store and the manufacture. no one wants to exchange it or pay for shipping. the pump has a two year warranty but they want me to pay the $45 to ship it. Don't know how fair the seems for a $240 pump that was never used.

Yeah that really surprises me. Kei is a great guy and really goes out of his way.

Regardless though, they should step up. As they are the sellers of the product.

I can understand keys point of view. I mean even a 90 day return policy is practically unheard of anymore if they even offer that long. Feb to August is 6 months which I'm sure is way past the grace period. Unless you've been batteling this for months. If that's the case you're persistent lol I would fight the manufacturer only at that point.

What brand is it? I will be sure to avoid it.

What kind of pump is it?
I've had to return a Reeflo before and the customer service was excellent.
The pump was a year old and started having a problem starting. They sent another pump
the day after I called and I boxed up the bad pump in the new pump's box and sent it back. They paid for the postage.
Can't beat Reeflo :)

Agreed. I hate to say it but at this point its really up to you and the manufacturer. Just about every company I know requires the buyer to pay for shipping to them but they pay shipping back.

btw - $45, are you trying to send it overnight or something? Throw it in a USPS flat rate box and call it a day...

ya i originally spoke with kei he said i need to contact manufac, so i did long distance of course been on the phon with them 4 times. they said i should call kei and he should be willing to swap it out and they would take care of it on thrir end. so called keys store spoke to worker there and never got a call back. the manufac also called with no return call. so went back to store same run around from employee keis not in ill leave him a message and of course no return call. just frustrating

Who is the manufacturer? Call them and tell them Key doesn't have the same pump.

well if no one is willing to work with you and the pump is brand new just buy a new one stick that one in the box and return it ...morally right? nope. but you will get what you paid for without the hassle
