Hey I'm headed to San Diego soon and thought I would see if anyone was from there or visits there often. Im looking for some ideas of things to do, places to eat and feedback on things:

Scuba Diving - Anyone dive anywhere near San Diego? La Jolla? Know of a Dive Shop I should go through?

Eats - where are the good eats?

Things to do - Seaworld worth the $210 for 3 people? Anywhere we need to go for sure?

*already have Aqua Sd on my list for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived in SD for 4 years. Sea World is really overrated although the kiddos might enjoy it. You have to get a California burrito from Roberto's - it has to be Roberto's, no where else. A fantastic Mexican restaurant to go to is Casa Da Pico in La Mesa, best Mexican food you will ever have. Of course get some In & Out burgers, ask for wild style.

The best beach to relax is probably La Jolla but there are a lot of shops in Mission Beach to check out. If your wife wants to go shopping then take her to Fashion Valley.

Coronado Island is pretty cool to drive around and the bridge that leads there is pretty neat.

Stay out of Mexico, TJ is not what it used to be...

Sweet thank you Kris! I Def will hit up Roberto's for sure, is this the company? http://www.robertostacoshop.com/

Were staying at the http://www.sandiegohilton.com/resort-overview.aspx and I think this is down on Mission Bay I believe so well def have to go check La Jolla as thats where I think there are some ship wrecks I want to go dive on.

And yes we wanted to go check out that Hotel too, as it looks awesome (but I heard wasnt worth the $500 a night for it)!

I grew up in Anaheim and we just got back from Cali about a month ago. We did go to Sea World for a day but we did this during the week to save on tickets. You might want to look into that. I tried going to Hodads to eat which was featured on Diners Drive ins and dives, but the line wrapped around the building. Definitely go to in and out like Kris was saying. Just going to the beach is alot of fun in itself too.

Redondo beach has a great fresh sea food place right on the docks. can get just about any kind of seafood there and eat it on the pier. Really good, we always have to stop by there every time we are there

San Diego is nice, good beaches. Sea world is a bit over rated, but its 100 times better than our aquarium and Im sure your kiddos would love it. Could always take an hour drive north to Anaheim and check out Disney World, if your in that area New Port Beach is nice too.

If you end up at DisneyLand, you absolutely have to get a corn dog form the corn dog stand on the main street in DisneyLand, I know its just a corn dog, but good lord are they good! San Diego zoo is pretty awesome, and Aqua SD is out there as well, nice store to visit.

I would not recommend SeaWorld to any one. What a horrible place, IMO. As for fun things to do, you may want to take the kids to Legoland, that's always awesome. And if animals is what you want to see, check out the wild animal sanctuary, the USS Midway is a cool floating museum.

I lived in Rancho Santa Fe for a year or so in college. San Diego zoo is awesome and a really good time. La Jolla cove was cool and you can snorkel.

I really enjoyed moonlight beach but it's north of SD a little bit. La Jolla was nice but the beach was extremely flat and waves kinda sucked.

Balboa park is a great place to walk around and it's huge.

At night, gas lamp district is the place to be and has awesome food, bars, and nightlife.

I'm jealous man, have fun out there!

We usually go to san diego every year or so, I don't know about this time of year but if you go to Coronado really early (6:00) am you can pick sand dollars right where the tide ends on the beach! There's tons of ocean life there too. I'd suggest checking it out

I second the California burrito at Robertos. That is one big a.. yummy burrito. I love heading over to Coronado beach later in the day. It's not as crowded and you can take a beautiful stroll along the beach. There was a few porpoises swimming along the shore last year. Have a wonderful time Chad :)
