heater and controller recomendations

Hey all,

I am looking for a good reliable heater and controller. I was thinking using the jager tru temp (silver with blue top) and an azoo temp controller. But Iv'e seen negative reviews on both and wanted to see what the club prefers.

Ranco heater/cooling controllers are really nice. I use these with a standard jager heater.

I didn't see those at first. Its certainly heavy duty. Would there be any advantage over this type of controller over spending more and getting a reef keeper lite as far as dependability or accuracy?

At first I was thinking DYI with a temp control kit then adding the prob and making a box for about $20 bucks, then just buying one for $25, but if dependability is my goal.....

I use apex on one system and rancho controller on the other both are awesome

What model ranco would you guys recommend for a 20g tank?

If you are even thinking about an apex controller then just use it to control the temp. Otherwise just the basic ranco will work.

Sweet, I just watched a few vid's on how to create a box for them and wiring. Doesn't look like a terrible way to go.
