How many mp40s for a 225?

As the title says how many will I need for some wave action in my 225?

you should only need 2 you just have to crank it up. the lagoon setting will not work for you. or for the same price you can go with the larger models of the tunze. for the price you can wait till someone is selling them dirt cheap and really get a wave going

Completely agree. I have two on my 180 and run them at about 60%. Four is way too many. If you wanted to really get carried away you could run two MP60s. I think even that is too much though. I would go with two MP40s and feel really good about it.

Dang I run a Mp40 and an Mp10 both on 80% reef crest on my 75 and love it. Sometimes wish I had 2- Mp40s though just to kick up and free the detritus in more sterile areas.

I think the ecotec site is a bit skewed. I also noticed that it doesn't consider a return pump of how grown in the reef is. Yea, no return and huge spa the site is probable correct. If you have a young reef with a strong return you don't need nearly what they want you to have. I have 1 mp40 on my 120 with a mag 18 return. My corals are getting big so I do need some more flow but the one has served me well for about a year.

Guess I will start my tank off with 2 mp40s and later down the line I might upgrade to 2 mp60s thanks for the info guys
