I just discovered that I have a pretty significant red bug infestation.

I called couple of Vets, and neither would write the prescription for the interceptor medication.

Does anyone happen to have any? Or know of a local area Vet that is familiar with this, and will write a prescription?

My vet in Greeley gave me a scrip about 20 months ago. Westridge animal hospital. He was reluctant and told me it was at my own risk. I had to go in and get an appt. I think I have one pill I've been hoarding. What size tank do you have?

Thanks guys.

I did end up dipping with Bayer after reading up on it. Definitely got rid of a lot of them, but we'll see how long it lasts.

I will probably end up doing the Interceptor eventually to get rid of them. I've got a lead on a researcher up at CU that is familiar with the off label use and willing to prescribe. I'll let everyone know what I find out when I talk to him.

Anything with ivermectin will kill them. Interceptor is just what is known to be safe. Anything that kills insects will kill crustaceans such as redbugs as their biology is very similar. Just have to make sure it dosent kill coral. also 2 treatments is essential. Do the 6 days apart.

Thanks Cody, I was actually going to do it three times after reading up on it.

So far, dipped Bayer corals look good though...

Sure. I'll start a new thread in a bit.

So far so good on the dipped corals, but I'm not sure how voracious these guys are in returning.
