Lavender tang and two-spot bristletooth tang - friends or enemies?

Just picked up a great lookin little lavender tang. He's got a body shape very similar to the two spot bristletooth tang that I already have. They've got different latin names, which I believe is supposed to mean that they won't fight. I just thought I'd pop the question to the club, in case anyone's got experience with these two sharing a tank: can I move him outta the nuvo and into the 180 with the the two spot, or is that a bad idea?

Brahaha. Just wanted to make sure I read that right. The lavendar will ultimately get to big for nuvo but one is an anthacrus and the twin spot is Ctenochaetus I would thing your ok because they are completely different family's but remember fish can't read books and definitely not the internet

Yes, obviously he'll get too big for the nuvo soon. I just wanted to hear some firsthand experience from someone before I moved them in together.

Ya know I was worried about the purple when I added it to 180 cause there was gonna be three zebra soma which scared me but it all worked out. As long as there a lot of hiding places then it will ease the stone treatment the new guy gets. :/

I have a lavender tang and a kole tang in a 180 together and there's no problems at all. Absolutely no aggression. I know you said two spot bristletooth but the kole tang is a very close relative. They've been together for a couple of years.

Yes - the kole and two spot are definitely 1st cousins. Sounds like the lil bugger is headed for the 180 tomorrow. He's been in the 38 nuvo just for part of today, and clearly wants more room, even tho he's pretty small.

I have a Mata tang and a tomini together and they seem fine. Same species differentiation as your dealing with.
